Never Ending Storm

After having gone to bed at midnight, I was woken up at 2 AM to the sound of my phone chirping (it does this when you plug it in) signaling that the power had apparently gone out and come back on. And then I saw the flashes of lightning. And then more. And more. And more. Fifteen strikes in one minute is what I counted, and that is probably a low estimate of what this first wave produced.

This is a measly two second exposure from my front porch, because I was tired and didn’t want to hassle with shoving the dog into the car at this time of morning.

The storm came through again at 4, 7, 9, and 10 and 11 AM. The 9 AM swath left us without power for three hours. Perhaps now that my fans are all circulating this wet air again, I can finally get some sleep. — Ritzville, WA.
